About Us: Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is dedicated to providing exceptional staffing solutions within the education sector. We specialize in matching talented individuals with rewarding roles in schools across the country.

Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Mentor to join a reputable SEN (Special Educational Needs) School. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance and assistance to students with diverse needs, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with behavioural difficulties, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to manage and improve challenging behaviours, in collaboration with teaching staff and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting confidence, self-esteem, and emotional well-being.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs), tailored to students' specific needs and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour incidents, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals, such as educational psychologists and social workers, to provide holistic support to students and their families.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months' experience working within a SEN environment, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of behavioural management techniques and strategies, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Hold a valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate registered on the updated service, or be willing to obtain one prior to employment.
  • Flexibility to work full-time hours, with a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students with special educational needs.

How to Apply: If you are passionate about supporting students with SEN and meet the above criteria, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are the ideal candidate for this role.
