Job description
We are seeking a talented Teaching Assistant to make a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. If you have experience working with children on a 1:1 basis and are confident in communication, we want to hear from you!
The Role
- Providing 1:1 support to students with SEND, ensuring they receive personalised attention and assistance
- Collaborating with the classroom teacher and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Assisting students with sensory or speech impairments in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
- Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour, and reporting any concerns or observations to the classroom teacher or SENDCO
You
- An Enhanced DBS check, demonstrating suitability to work with children and young people.
- Previous experience working within a school setting, preferably with children on a 1:1 basis
- A relevant teaching qualification, demonstrating your knowledge of effective teaching practices
The School
This is a remarkable special school that caters to students with complex needs, severe learning difficulties, and profound and multiple learning difficulties. Their mission is to provide a secure and nurturing environment where each child's individual needs are recognised and met.
They offer places for approximately 70 pupils aged 3-14 at one site and 40 pupils aged 14-19 on their secondary site.
They place a strong emphasis on total communication. They provide opportunities for all pupils to develop meaningful and functional ways of expressing themselves.
