Job description
A Behaviour Support Specialist is required to join our team. The Behaviour Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with behavioural challenges, helping them achieve their goals, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and have a strong interest in behaviour support, we want to hear from you.
· Working with your student on a 1:1 basis either in their home or a suitable venue
· Delivering 2-5 sessions per week - each centred around the needs, specific requirements and interests of your student.
· Each session will last between 3-6 hours and will take place between 9am - 4pm, Monday to Friday. (Days and times are arranged with yourself before placements start) - so work around a timetable to suit your needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct functional behaviour assessments to identify triggers and develop effective behaviour intervention plans to support the student's learning.
· Implement behaviour support strategies, including positive behaviour supports and crisis intervention techniques to enable the student to enjoy their learning journey with you.
· Collaborate with individuals, their families, and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement personalised behaviour support plans.
· Monitor and collect data on individual progress and make necessary adjustments to behaviour plans.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation related to behaviour support plans and interventions.
· Stay up to date with best practices in behaviour support and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience or knowledge of behaviour support or a related field working with vulnerable children or young people with additional needs.
· Strong knowledge of behaviour analysis principles and methodologies.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with individuals with behavioural challenges and their support networks.
