Job description
Role:
- Encourage children and young people to access education, as they may be disengaged from school-life.
- An amazing opportunity for somebody who wants to make a difference to vulnerable young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
- Offer guidance and support both in the classroom, in the community and liaise closely with parents / carers to ensure a joined-up approach is implemented throughout their learning journey
- The working hours are 8:30am - 3:30pm or 4pm Monday to Friday, term-time only
- There are opportunities for the role to become permanent after a qualifying period, so anyone looking for a long-term career is encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
- Resilient and focused on the best interests of the pupils that you support
- Able to demonstrate empathy and understanding, be non-judgemental and open-minded
- A passion to change young people's lives for the better
- Understand Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties that children and young people can face today
- Previous experience is not essential, and transferrable skills can be from your personal and professional life.
All applicants will need hold an existing DBS or apply for a new DBS and be fully reference checked prior to appointment.
