• Provide calming and nurturing support for learners, encouraging their independence and rewarding progression milestones
• Be resilient, not easily offended and have the skills to de-escalate sometimes challenging situations
• Be committed to supporting the pupils to ensure they have consistency in their daily routine
Skills and attributes:
• Ability to relate well to pupils and young adults with additional needs, experience of working with SEN would be advantageous, personal experience is hugely relevant, but a character fit is most important
• Be able to remain calm under pressure
• Be confident, passionate, and highly motivated
• Be vigilant in identifying safeguarding concerns and following protocol
